Open all educational institutions as soon as possible: Bangladesh NAP

Bangladesh National Awami Party-Bangladesh NAP Chairman Jebel Rahman Ghani and Secretary General M. Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan said that the educational institutions in the country have been closed for more than a year and a half, so the education system is now on the verge of destruction. The government has no qualms about that. If necessary, educational institutions should be started by formulating different curricula in shift system.

They made the demand in a statement sent to the media on Tuesday (August 18th).

They said that due to the closure of educational institutions for almost a year and a half, the students are leaving the world of books and becoming addicted to the world of Facebook or Pubji games or drugs. Some people are suffering from extreme mental problems. Parents, students and teachers are all concerned in this situation. Moreover, no one understands what it means to keep everything open and just close the educational institution.

The leaders said, to keep the life of the people normal, public-private offices as well as public transport and the market when everything is open, then why the educational institutions will be left? Students either stay at home; But the rest of his family members are moving everywhere in the streets. There is no need to follow the hygiene rules in those places. As a result, students are at health risk even if they are at home. The decision to open an educational institution should also be taken to save the students from destruction if the lockdown is ever shown again to activate or turn the economic wheel of the country.

They said that in order to overcome the crisis of education in Corona, it is necessary to ensure immunization of all teachers, students and staff and open the educational institution by announcing a roadmap quickly. After the opening of the educational institution, additional classes on English, Mathematics and Science will be arranged for the weaker students on holidays, bringing back dropout students with financial and food assistance to poor families. Instead of autopsy, decisions have to be taken about taking public examinations in a short manner, resolving the session crisis of the university, waiving the salaries and fees of the private colleges and universities. Standing at this juncture, the state must establish the constitutional right to education by reversing the policy decision to destroy education. Otherwise, the value of freedom in exchange for blood in the great liberation war will become meaningless.
