Muhibullah killed to obstruct Rohingya repatriation: Bangladesh NAP

Expressing deep concern and concern over the return of Rohingyas to their homeland Myanmar and the killing of Muhibullah, a strong voice at home and abroad, and strongly condemning and protesting, the Bangladesh National Awami Party-Bangladesh NAP demanded the arrest and exemplary punishment of those involved in the killings.

In a statement sent to the media on Friday (October 1), party chairman Jebel Rahman Ghani and secretary general M. Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan made this demand.

They say Muhibullah, chairman of the Arakan Rohingya Society for Peace and Human Rights – who has been vocal about the Rohingya repatriation. In a real sense, he was a place of trust for ordinary Rohingyas. And that is why the countrymen think that Muhibullah was killed to obstruct the repatriation of Rohingyas to Myanmar.

The two leaders said that just as the killing of one Rohingya leader after another was calling into question the security of the camp, the government also needed to uncover whether there was an anti-national, anti-state conspiracy behind it. Remember, if this continues, control of the Rohingya camp will be in the hands of terrorist groups. Repatriation will create a new crisis. Which in no way can be beneficial for Bangladesh. The government must also consider whether there is any conspiracy in Myanmar with Muhibullah’s assassination.

They said Muhibullah’s killing had spread panic among the entire Rohingya community. The government should investigate the murder as soon as possible and ensure exemplary punishment for all the culprits. On the other hand, the government has to repeatedly raise the issue of resolving the Rohingya issue in international forums. The government should also be aware that Muhibullah’s assassination is not an obstacle to solving the Rohingya problem.
