Friendly meeting of Uttara Press Club leaders with DC Morshed Alam

The leaders of the newly elected committee of Uttara Press Club have paid a courtesy call on DMP Uttara Division Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohammad Morshed Alam. The friendly meeting was held today (Wednesday) at 12 noon at the office of DC Uttara in Sector 6 of Uttara. The newly elected Deputy Commissioner of DMP Uttara Division was greeted with flowers by the newly elected committee of Uttara Press Club.

During the friendly meeting, President Russell Khan raised the issues of election, verification and selection of members of Uttara Press Club. The leaders called on the police to take strict action against the co-operation of journalists in carrying out their professional duties in Greater Uttara, the administration’s surveillance to stop mis-journalism, threats of lawsuits against media workers for publishing news and intimidation in a terrorist manner. Airport Zone Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADC) Tapas Kumar Das was present on the occasion.

Seeking the cooperation of the journalist leaders in the hope of making Uttara beautiful, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) of Uttara Division Morshed Alam said, “We want to make Uttara a beautiful city.” Your cooperation is very much needed for this. Because, the journalists get the information of any incident first. If you share this information with us, we can take swift legal action.

He advised the Uttara Press Club to play an effective role in curbing anti-journalism and violence against well-known journalists in the Uttara region. He requested to immediately inform the officer-in-charge of the concerned police station and the DC office directly if any journalist is threatened and threatened with a case for publishing news. DMP Uttara Division DC Morshed Alam also assured the leaders that there would be all kinds of cooperation from the DMP Uttara Division Police in collecting information of professional journalists. At the same time, the high-ranking police officer in charge of DMP Uttara Division wished success to the future activities of Uttara Press Club.
